천연물(식물 추출물) 기반 생리활성 물질의 분석과 기능성 평가를 주요 연구 분야로 하며, 이를 반려동물 사료 및 기능성 소재에 적용하는 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 애기땅빈대(Euphorbia supina), 감국(Chrysanthemum indicum), 천마(Gastrodia elata) 등 다양한 천연물의 항염, 항산화, 항비만, 피부 개선 효능을 연구해왔으며, 비동물시험법 개발과 동물복지 정책에도 관심을 두고 있습니다.

반려동물 천연물 효능평가
천연물 유래 소재의 항비만·항염 효능을 세포·동물 수준에서 검증하고, 제형과 생체이용률까지 연결한다.
천연물의 생리활성 성분을 규명하고 작용 기전(AMPK 등)을 밝혀, 기능성 사료·보조제 소재로 이어지는 근거를 만든다. in vitro 소화–발효 연계 안전성 평가 프로토콜도 함께 개발한다.

비만·당뇨 등 대사질환의 영양 중재. 사료 조성이 체성분과 장내 미생물총을 어떻게 바꾸는지.
지방세포 분화·지방합성 경로(PPARγ·SREBP-1c·AMPK)를 표적으로 한 소재 연구와, 사료 성분이 실제 대사 지표·장내 미생물에 미치는 영향을 통합적으로 본다.
